The Bronze and Silver Awards are the first two levels of the National Junior Angus Association Recognition Program. Juniors must apply for the awards and then meet point requirements in many areas of participation before receiving them. High Indexing Bull
Melvin Porter, Meldon Farm, Jefferson, Ga., consigned the high indexing Angus bull to the 2012 Tifton Performance Tested Bull Sale, March 7 in Irwinville, Ga. The bull is a January 2011 son of SydGen Mandate 6079. He posted an average daily gain of 4.78 pounds. Angus Royalty
Shelby Eidson, Arnoldsville, Queen, left, and Abbey Gretsch, Crawford, Princess, right, were crowned Georgia Angus Royalty at the 2012 Georgia Angus Association Annual Meeting and Banquet, Jan. 28 in Athens, Ga.


The Georgia Angus Association (GAA) posthumously inducted Sam Ambrose, Newnan, with the Georgia Angus Hall of Fame Award at the 2012 Georgia Angus Association Annual Meeting and Banquet, Jan. 28 in Athens, Ga. This program was established by the GAA to recognize individuals that have made significant contributions to the Angus industry in Georgia and across the country.
